Just wrapped up a poster design for the 4 year anniversary party for the Hifi Club in Calgary. The club is run by our homies Mike and Pete from Smalltown DJs. I had to go all in with the Canadian references on this one. Got the Calgary Tower, the Calgary cowboy hat (we confirmed with Smalltown Pete this morning that there are LOTS of cowboys in Calgary), the maple leaf, Royal Bank of Canada logo (one of the illest bank logos ever), and the HIFI CLUB letters, set in a typeface designed in 1977 for the Canadian transit system. Exposing one of the screens... That orange is actually gonna be fluorescent, so put on your lazer goggles for this one, kids! If you're cool and were in Minneapolis over the weekend, then you likely made it over to the ALMOST HOMELESS art show at our First Amendment gallery featuring collaborative...

Thanks to Drue and the whole crew at Silhouette for letting us have our Do it To it party at their fine establishment for the third year running. Thanks to all of our friends we saw, new friends we made, and all that. We had a blast. Here are a few memories... Pork and green chile taco, two bacon egg & cheese tacos from Torchy's. Ben and Bjorn hanging up our brand new banner in our booth at Flatstock 20. Our booth starting to take shape! Obama is checking out Arcade Fire, and King Kong is guarding the side wall. Kutiman x Youtube

Not too long ago, I designed a 12"" label for our friends at Melting Pot Music for their new artist Kutiman, an afro-funk musician from Tel Aviv, Israel who plays all the instruments on his songs. The design was a two color typography workout and turned out about like this: Soon after, Melting Pot asked me to design Kutiman's full length album cover artwork. I loved all of the songs I'd heard from him so far and was really excited to get to work on it. It was a much more involved project: If you haven't heard Kutiman's music, it's more than worth a listen over at the Melting Pot website. We have copies for sale at our online store. So why am I bringing up an album cover I designed like two years ago? Well, Kutiman has just popped up and shared his latest project with the world wide...
