Since we opened Sign Related in January, we've had a large number of gallery visitors coming by to check out the show and also ask us a lot of questions regarding the making of all the fantastic work. We decided the best solution would be to let the artists speak for themselves! We are having a special artist talk with Sign Related's Peyton Scott Russell, Ben Janssens, Dan ""Dusty"" Madsen, and Matt Thompson. This will be a chance to hear the artists discuss their craft, how they work with a wide range of materials and explore the connection between the work they make by day and the art they create on their own time. You'll also be able to ask all sorts of burning questions like ""How do you make all the different colors of neon?"" and ""What sort of tricks makes your hand lettering so clean and perfect?"" The...

It's just about time for our 11th annual celebration of one of the most influential and prolific hip hop icons of all time. On Monday February 18th, we return to Triple Rock Social Club in Minneapolis for a huge night of music and fun. We'll have a live performance from The Oh Geez featuring members of Culture Cry Wolf and Dream Crusher with a long lineup of Twin Cities rappers joining them on stage. Jimmy 2 Times and Plain Ole Bill from Get Cryphy will be keeping things moving on the turntables all night, hittin' you with all the Dre-related classics you know and love. We will also be playing the world famous $20 Sack Pyramid to see who knows their rap and pop culture trivia, who will walk away with some big prizes, and who will be mercilessly heckled by the crowd! Advance tickets are available right NOW at...

Our friend Tom Hazelmyer, better known to many as HAZE XXL, was recently featured on the fantastic MN Original series. In this video, he talks about getting his start in the Twin Cities music scene and starting up the Amphetamine Reptile Records label. Aside from his contributions to Minneapolis' rock music scene, Tom is also responsible for opening up the Grumpy's restaurants and OX-OP gallery, which brought world class artists like Shepard Fairey, Shag, Mark Mothersbaugh, and Tim Biskup to town to exhibit their work in an intimate space. We were honored to get to show our work there in 2005. We've worked with Tom on numerous projects over the last decade, several of which spawned prints which are available right now in our online store! Melvins VS Grumpy's print Multi-colored, multi-layered madness from Wes Winship, designed in conjunction with the release of a 3CD compilation of The Melvins' live...

Well the weather sucks across most of the mainland US right now, so my wife and I decided to get the F outta town. We're in Kaua'i right now and have been enjoying the weather, food, and the scenery. Duh. I've been keeping my eyes open for signs, logos and other interesting design inspiration out here, so here are a few little bits that I've encountered. Many more to come!
And one straight up Hawaii shot just for good measure...

Tonight, we are celebrating the fifth anniversary of our weekly DJ night, dance party, and all-around awesome time known as Triple Double. Just over five years ago, Wes was speaking with the staff at Triple Rock Social Club about bringing back their legendary 2-for-1 Tuesday drink special. Instead of merely a happy hour vibe, Wes suggested letting us curate a rotation of DJs to come spin some music each week and turn it into an all-out dance party. On February 4, 2008, we set up turntables, projected movies onto the back wall, featured DJ sets from TRL, Tanner, Wes and myself, and filled the room with dancing friends, neighborhood regulars, college students, skaters, b-boys, and industry folks alike, and Triple Double was born. We've successfully repeated the process every Tuesday night since then. Come celebrate five years of music and madness tonight at Triple Rock. There will be 2-for-1 drinks,...
