Haze XXL on MN Original

Our friend Tom Hazelmyer, better known to many as HAZE XXL, was recently featured on the fantastic MN Original series. In this video, he talks about getting his start in the Twin Cities music scene and starting up the Amphetamine Reptile Records label. Aside from his contributions to Minneapolis' rock music scene, Tom is also responsible for opening up the Grumpy's restaurants and OX-OP gallery, which brought world class artists like Shepard Fairey, Shag, Mark Mothersbaugh, and Tim Biskup to town to exhibit their work in an intimate space. We were honored to get to show our work there in 2005. We've worked with Tom on numerous projects over the last decade, several of which spawned prints which are available right now in our online store! Melvins VS Grumpy's print Multi-colored, multi-layered madness from Wes Winship, designed in conjunction with the release of a 3CD compilation of The Melvins' live Minneapolis shows. The CD was co-released by Burlesque and Amphetamine Reptile, documenting over 10 live performances from The Melvins. APOCALYPTIC MONGOLOID OCULAR VARIANT INFESTATION show print In October 2011, Tom curated a one-night-only event at CO Exhibitions featuring his own prints alongside work from Junko Mizuno, Math.i, Grant Hart, and Mackie Osbourne. Accompanying the prints were live musical performances from Gay Witch Abortion and Sea Whores, who played live down in our print studio, but had the audio and video fed up onto a screen and sound system in our gallery. This print was designed by Haze and screenprinted in our studio.
