Friend-of-Burlesque Anton Pearson, who some of you might know as DJ Anton from Wants VS Needs, has organized a group art show entitled SLANGUAGE: A PORTMANSHOW, a collection of typographic art based on portmanteaus, slang, and wordplay. Anyone who knows me knows my pun game is mad strong. I got big puns and fat jokes, son. So anyways, for this show I decided to focus on a more traditional portmanteau and chose the word toujours. A combination of the French ""tous"" (all / every) and ""jours"" (days), it means ""always."" I did a Sharpie freestyle right up on the wall of MCAD's Gallery 148.
The show opens tonight. You should go see it! Read more about it here.

Back in Minneapolis after yet another successful Flatstock at Seattle's Bumbershoot Music & Arts Festival!
These poster conventions/music events are always a little overwhelming. So much to do & see, all crammed into a very short amount of time. I tried to sneak away during the work part of the day every once in awhile to capture some music shots & various Bumbershoot moments. Clickclickclick as fast as possible, then rush back to the Burlesque Flatstock booth to hustle those posters. Big thanks to the Larsen Family for putting us up again this year. So much appreciated! Here's a handful of some of my favorite shots from the weekend. Feast your eyes on the entire set of photos HERE.

soooooooo, im working on a special little project that im not at liberty to speak about JUST yet... while looking for some older drawings for this special little project, i found a folder of drawings from 1989! in 1989 i was in grade 8, had JUST got my first skateboard and was quickly becoming obsessed. the skateboard graphics i was being exposed to in the pages of Thrasher Magazine made me want to learn to draw... what you are about to look at are a few VERY early skateboard driven attempts at drawing, i have lots more, but these are pretty funny/fun for me to look at and remember pretending to be doing schoolwork when really i was drawing junk like this...
