This Saturday (even though the flyer says Dec 1st) is the grand opening of our month-long popup shop at Turntable Lab LA. If you live in the Los Angeles area, drop over to the Turntable Lab store on Fairfax (across from the Supreme store) to pick up some of our posters, sticker packs, Dre Day stuff, and more! Last year's TTLab popup shop was a smash so we had to do it one mo' gain!
The crew from Turntable Lab has been supportive of Burlesque, Life Sucks Die, and our musical endeavours since way back. It's been great watching these guys grow from super-specialized scratch DJ equipment salesmen into international tastemakers, selling everything from Afro-funk records to sk8 videos to reggae album cover artwork books. The last things I bought from them were a pocket-sized analog synthesizer and a Beach Boys record. Go support these dudes!

Introducing a new segment we'll be airing from time to time on the ol' Burlesque blog. Here we'll feature posters and older design and print projects which may have been out of the spotlight for a minute but still pack as mean a punch as they did on day one. You could call this a modern day version of ""Things You May Have Slept On."" (REAL HEADZ KNOW THE DEAL) Here we have Wes Winship's poster for Fog's ""10th Avenue Freakout"" album release shows at Minneapolis' 7th Street Entry and Chicago's Empty Bottle. Read more after the jump... Wes really captured the multi-instrumental musical madness of Andrew Broder's 2005 album. By this time, Broder had moved away from the turntable and sample-based sounds found on the earlier Fog records and had been taking a more rock music approach, a perfect leadup to his current group Cloak Ox. Layers and layers...

We were pretty excited to receive this photo in our inbox recently. Our friend Sandra over in Ireland sent us this pic of her daughter Anna Mae's drawing of our Sunshine Hot Dog graphic. This gets our full support and we'd love to see more reinterpretations of our work in this style. If your youngster happens to be doodling their own version of an Arcade Fire poster, Alphabet print, or even a certain R. Kelly shirt, send us a photo and we'll share it on our blog!
